Expectation management

Outfit details:
  • Blue leather jacket: Soon, bought in Oxfam in Newcastle (£25)
  • Dress: French Connection, bought in a clothes exchange in Whitley Bay on Saturday (£16.20)
  • Necklace: M&S, present from my aunt and uncle
  • Tights: Asda, in a sale (50p)
  • Boots: Schuh, present from my Nan
Total outfit cost: £41.70

After yesterday's tonal look, I went a bit mad with the colour and then added some extra brightness with the backdrop. Some days are about having fun and pushing people's expectations.

I love my new dress which has fabulous colours and an amazing pattern of men and horses. No one noticed the print but I think the tights were a step too far for several of the guys in the office who stared and then tried to pretend they hadn't noticed them. If only they realised that I expect to be noticed in this outfit. That's surely the point.

Pete and I headed out into a murky evening to do these shots. In contrast to yesterday's bright daylight, today was really overcast but the camera coped well and the colours really shone despite the gloom. Tonight was a fun, easy shoot where everything came together really well. Happy Tuesday to everyone.

I know how uncomfortable that first pose was (and you held it for ages) but it was so worth it!

I noticed the pattern, sort of Native American style. Useful if you need to ride in and collect some scalps! That dress is a great shape on you as it is, but I look forward to seeing how you remix it.

That dress is fantastic on you! Love it! Fits you to perfection. Haven't been to Whitley bay for a few weeks and you've made me want to go again!! Now!! Going to try Hexham soon - have you been to any good charity shops there? PS I've just started on my wardrobe organising - have you?! x

Thanks everyone. Catherine, I haven't been to the charity shops in Hexham (although there seemed to be a good selection of them). Let me know how you get on.

The wardrobe had a small rework on Sunday but I didn't get very far. I will have to work on it again this weekend.
